UGA Arch

The Arch is probably one of the most revered symbols and traditions at the University of Georgia.

The Arch was constructed sometime between 1856 and 1858 as part of the iron fence securing campus. Since then the Arch has been the sight of protests, vigils and memorials as well as the place where hundreds of students line up to pass under the Arch into their new lives as graduates of the university.

Rumor is, if a student walks under the Arch before they have graduated, then they will be cursed to never graduate from the university…and may even go bald, according to some students.
